September is HUNGER ACTION MONTH!  HAM is a nationwide effort to increase awareness of local hunger.  We have an entire calendar of events for you to participate in.  You can complete the whole calendar or sign up for a single event.  Operation Orange is one event you won’t want to miss.

Operation Orange has two components:

1.  A repack project for adults and children 10 year’s old and older.

  • 2-hour repack shifts are available on September 11th from 10am-10pm.  Individuals and groups (age 10+) of up to 30 volunteers will be repacking bulk product into family size portions to be distributed to more than 200 pantries, soup kitchens and shelters across EIF’s 17-county region.  Any volunteer 10-13 year’s old must be accompanied by an adult.

Note for community groups: Please ask all of your group members to fill out a volunteer registration form online prior to arrival.

2.  A repack project for children 5-13 year’s old with their parents called the KIDS’ ZONEpresented by ChambanaMoms.com

  • Children 5-13 years old and their parents/guardians can sign up for our KIDS’ ZONE .  The Kids’ Zone is open from 4-8pm on September 11th.  Two 2-hour shifts are available.  Children must be accompanied by a parent. Kids and parents/guardians will participate in repacking closed bulk food product (so no hairnets or gloves are necessary).
