2022 Small Club of the Year

CU_Sunrise_2022_Small_Club_of_the_YearWe’ve always thought we were a special club with an active, engaged membership. Turns out, we were right. This Small Club of the Year Award is well-earned, and hearing outgoing DG Heather Stoa read the list of our accomplishments was impressive (and exhausting). Congratulations Sunrisers!

PROGRAM

Past District Governor, Larry Howell, joined us via Zoom to explain Rotary International’s Ambassador project to Empowering Girls.

Larry recently became our Rotary Zone #31 Ambassador to help with the Rotary International 2021-2022 Presidential Initiative to “Empowering Girls” throughout the world. This Rotary initiative is based on the mission to have every girl 18 and younger be in charge of their own future. Through the Empowering Girls Initiative, Rotary members worldwide can enhance girls’ safety, health, education and well being.

Larry’s power point presentation showed numerous examples of how young women are poorly treated throughout the world. He also gave examples of how we can help locally through district grants and club service projects and how we can empower girls within our own community into leadership roles.

For more information go to Rotary International Initiative for Empowering Girls.
