PROGRAM

Mary introduced District Governor Nominee Mike Martin from the Mattoon Rotary Club.  He talked about the multi-district Guadalajara Mexico Service Trip. 

This annual trip grew out of the “Heart to Heart“ trips to Mexico which are in November each year.  Participants on that trip visit potential and ongoing Rotary grant projects. 
The January trip is a hands-on service mission.

People from nine Rotary districts spent a week in Mexico.  The team included doctors, medical students, dentists and handymen.   

They set up a base to provide medical, dental and vision services at a different school each day.  Mike was on the pharmacy team with Andrea Fein from Champaign.   The construction team made repairs at the schools. They also provided lunch to the students. 

Each member of the team paid their own travel expenses which came to around $2100 per person.
