C-U Sunrise Learns About the New U of I College of Medicine

As the inaugural Dean of the Carle Illinois College of Medicine he is well-suited to speak of the College’s unique intersection of engineering and medicine.
This concept will use cutting-edge research and technology to address current health issues as well as those of the future.

Robin Ferguson Receives Her First Paul Harris
On February 9th, C-U Sunrise Rotary Club member Robin Ferguson was presented her first Paul Harris. District Governor Kevin Yonce was on hand to present Robin her pin and certificate. Congratulations Robin.
Josh Whitman Visits C-U Sunrise Rotary
Last Thursday morning, January 26th, University of Illinois Athletic Director, Josh Whitman was our honored guest. He spoke about his vision for university athletics and answered some tough questions from the filled- to-capacity room.
Sunrise Volunteers Distribute Food
On a beautiful, warm Saturday, January 21, ten C-U Sunrise Rotary Club members gave up their morning to help the Eastern Illinois Food Bank distribute food to over 70 families in Bement, Illinois.

Our First Presenter for 2017 – County Board Member, Chris Alix
Chris Alix, Champaign County Board member from District 10, gave us an overview of issues facing the county, including the challenges faced by the county nursing home.
Our Last Presenter in 2016 – Mitch Davis
Our last morning meeting for 2016 had Mitch Davis as our speaker. Mitch is the Executive Director of the Muscular Dystrophy Association for Central Illinois.
He spoke of MDA’s three C’s – Cure, Care and Champion – the aspects of MDA’s response to the challenge of neuro-muscular disease.
