Rotary Volunteers Information
Dear C-U Sunrise Rotary Club,
Thank you very much for your support and participation in Read Across America, our 14th Annual Community Celebration. We began this journey with a partnership with you. Since then, Rotary and other C-U volunteer organizations have truly made Read Across America a successful Community Project. So, for the 1000 of children and their families, who are making their own journeys toward literacy each year, we are very grateful to have had your continued presence and financial support.
For March 1st, please schedule 2 volunteers who will read to a small group of children during each shift. Readers can be scheduled for 30 minutes or more. The event begins at 10:00 am closes at 1:00 pm. You may set up your own member’s schedule. (Please send us a copy of your completed schedule).
Volunteer Readers can bring their own books, or they can select books from our book giveaway tables on Saturday. Stories should be designed for very young children. (Preschool – 2nd grade)
Volunteers should sign in at the Information Desk. (near the clock in the center of the mall)
The Urbana Free Library will provide a small rug for each Rotary. Since, we will not have rocking chairs this year, please either provide a special chair for that day or use one of the mall’s regular chairs or benches. (Please let us know if you will bring a special chair or a rocker).
