C-U Sunrise Past President Chuck Reifsteck said, “We had a presentation from DSC at a Club meeting and many of us were unaware of the wide range of programs that DSC provides to individuals and families throughout Champaign County.  We were also unaware of how many people are helped by the services of DSC.  It is the hope of our Club that this computer software will make it easier for the staff at DSC to serve their clients.”

Dale Morrissey, DSC Chief Executive Officer, shares, “We are truly appreciative of the funds to purchase this software.  For individuals who need support in the areas of communication, this software opens up possibilities and creates further independence for them to express their desires, wants, and needs.”

DSC will be presented the check for the Boardmaker software at the C-U Sunrise Rotary meeting on Thursday, September 25th at 7:00 a.m. at the Hawthorn Suites in Champaign.

The mission of DSC is to enhance the lives of persons with disabilities by providing services and supports which enable them to live, work, learn and participate in their communities. DSC was formed in 1972 by the merger of four community organizations serving people with disabilities. The result is a comprehensive organization that is able to provide multiple services in Champaign and Ford counties. DSC serves individuals who may have epilepsy, cerebral palsy, autism, Down syndrome, intellectual disabilities and/or other disabling conditions. It is through the programs and services offered at DSC that individuals are able to pursue a more fulfilling life.
