PROGRAM

Benny Lapid was back in Champaign-Urbana and attended this morning’s meeting. Before moving back home to Israel, Benny was an active member in our club and worked as a photographer specializing in weddings. His work takes him around the world, and he is well known for his ability to capture the heart of the wedding in his photos. This morning’s scheduled speaker did not show up so Benny was called upon to fill in.

Benny and his family live in Israel, and he still travels throughout the world taking photographs. His wife, after retiring from the U of I, now teaches classes in Israel dealing with the Hebrew language and Jewish religion. They now have 14 grandchildren and the number continues to climb. His son recently became a Colonel in the Israeli Air Force and flies fighter jets. Benny shared a few tales with the club about his current work and about his homeland. Club member, Gary Olsen and family will be visiting Benny later this year in Israel. Benny noted that the invitation to come and visits extends to all club members.
