“If you would have your son to walk honourably through the world, you must not attempt to clear the stones from his path, but teach him to walk firmly over them – not insist upon leading him by the hand, but let him learn to go alone.” ― Anne Bronte

“Sometimes being a friend means mastering the art of timing. There is a time for silence. A time to let go and allow people to hurl themselves into their own destiny. And a time to prepare to pick up the pieces when it’s all over.” ― Octavia Butler

NOTES and PROGRAM

Allan Penwell noted that, going forward, the Invocation will be changed to a Reflection to be inclusive of diverse views and beliefs.

Robb announced that this year’s award-winning CUSR bowling team will include Michelle, Cary, Darrell, David, Paul, Rod, and Robb.  There is a date and time for this event, but the Newsletter staff is omitting such information to help build suspense.  And build suspenders.  We really need to work on suspenders for the team.

Kevin Erickson, Associate Professor of Architecture at UIUC, offered some fascinating insight into the wide variety of challenges architects are called on to solve.
